To ensure the academic quality of the journal and to comply with the requirements for subsidy of the South AfricanDepartment of Higher Education (DHET), a rigorous peer review process by no less than two acknowledged experts in the field is to be followed for all article submissions to the S[A]JBE. Each article received will be twice blind reviewed in terms of:

• Relevance to the journal vision, mission, themes and objectives
• Originality of material
• Academic rigour
• Contribution to knowledge, and
• Research methodology
• Robustness of analysis of findings
• Empirical research findings, and
• Critical current literature review

Authors will be provided with anonymous reviewers’ comments and, if required by the reviewers, will be requested to re-submittheir articles noting and addressing the reviewers’ comments. Evidence is required to demonstrate that action was taken by the author regarding the comments received. These resubmitted articles are checked by the Editors, who will make sure that the concerns of the reviewers have been addressed. The Review Committee or the Editors will never be involved in a review process related to their own authored or co-authored articles. A separate review committee is constituted for each edition depending on the expertise needed.

Author Guidelines for peer-reviewed articles

• Articles must be submitted in English.
• The optimum length is 5000 - 10000 words (without references).
• Article must be submitted in electronic format via EASYCHAIR https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=sajbe0126
• Formatting: MS Word, Times New Roman, font size 11, single line spacing. Paragraphs start on a new line and are not indented.
• Authors must make sure that their articles are language edited and well written.
• Authors must only submit original work that has not been submitted elsewhere. If the research submitted constitutes part of a masters, PhD, or funded project, this must be stated.
• Figures must be high-resolution images in TIFF format.
• Copyright is transferred to the author(s) when an article is accepted for publication.
• An abstract of 300 must be included.
• Include 5-6 keywords after the abstract.

• In-text page numbers: Include page numbers to in-text references when incorporating a direct quotation into a sentence, paraphrase a passage, summarise an idea from a particular page, mention statistics, or you wish to direct the readers to a specific page. Page numbers are not necessary if you are referring to the entire work as a whole. Use a colon to indicate the page number.
• Foot- and endnotes are likewise done in the Harvard style of referencing.
• The references list should contain all the relevant information, and be listed alphabetically according to the names of the authors.
• URLs for the references of internet documents cited in the text and listed in the references list must accompany the article. The date that the URLs were visited ,ust be indictated.
• The title, qualifications and affiliations of the author(s), the address, telephone numbers, email address and ORCID must also be provided.
• All submissions should be accompanied by a signed author and publisher agreements.
