The Summer Meeting of the Traffic Flow Theory and Characteristics (TFTC) Committee ACP50 of the Transportation Research Board will be held in Cairns, Australia, 7-9 July 2025. The meeting will be organized as part of the International Symposium on "Advancing Traffic Flow Theory for a Sustainable Future", co-hosted by the University of Queensland and the University of New South Wales.
The symposium builds on the success of previous summer meetings that have taken place in Amsterdam, Netherlands (2023); Virtually (2020–22); Lausanne, Switzerland (2019); Woods Hole, Massachusetts (2018); Evanston, Illinois (2017); Sydney, Australia (2016); Kobe, Japan (2015); Portland, Oregon (2014); Fort Lauderdale, Florida (2012); Annecy, France (2010); and the Greenshields Symposium in Woods Hole, Massachusetts (2008).
The TFTC2025 summer meeting will be held after TRISTAN XII and CASPT2025 in Japan. This arrangement provides an excellent opportunity for researchers and practitioners attending the conferences in Japan to extend their trip and join the summer meeting in Australia, fostering meaningful academic and professional connections across the two events.
