Navigating Net-Zero Seas: Global Port-Shipping Partnerships for a Decarbonised Future
ICASL is an annual international event devoted to shipping and logistics studies. It aims to provide a platform for academics, researchers, policy makers, specialists, and practitioners working in port, shipping, aviation transportation and logistics. We are expecting a wide range of attendances from Asia-Pacific and other overseas regions to this coming event.
It is our great pleasure to invite all of you to the 19th International Conference of Asian Shipping and Logistics (ICASL 2026) to be held on June 5th, 2026 in Seoul, Korea. Please note that the schedule is subject to change. Our in-person conference has decided to transfer to a virtual setting. The Conference will be jointly organized by Korean Association of Shipping and Logistics, Inc.
The theme of 2026 conference is “Navigating Net-Zero Seas: Global Port-Shipping Partnerships for a Decarbonised Future”. Proposed Sub-Issues for ICASL 2026 are as follows:
1. Green Shipping Corridors & International Decarbonisation Partnerships
- Bilateral and multilateral green-corridor initiatives across Asia and the Indo-Pacific
- Collaborative policies and governance frameworks for cross-border maritime decarbonisation
2. Zero-Emission Ports & Next-Generation Maritime Infrastructure
- Electrification, alternative-fuel bunkering, and net-zero port infrastructure development
- Automation, digital twins, and smart-port technologies enabling energy-efficient operations
3. Clean Maritime Fuels & Energy-Transition Pathways
- Hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, and emerging zero-carbon fuels for global shipping
- Fuel-supply chain development and techno-economic evaluation of maritime energy systems
4. Sustainable & Resilient Net-Zero Supply Chains
- Green logistics and low-carbon supply-chain strategies in ASEAN and Asia-Pacific
- Digitalisation, AI-driven optimisation, and carbon-tracking solutions for maritime logistics
5. Maritime shipping related issues/ Supply chain management and logistics related issues/ Sea transport and transportation technology related issues/ Recent trends and future perspectives for logistics and sea transport related issues in ASEAN
Submission Guidelines
To apply for attending the conference, you need to submit the abstract of your paper by March 27th, 2026, and complete registration along with submitting the full paper or PPT file by May 8th, 2026. All submissions of abstract, full paper, or ppt are format free, meaning there are no strict formatting requirements.
- Kindly note that there is no registration fee as ICASL 2026 is held online
- The Best paper would be reviewed carefully and selected among presented papers.
- Notice of new establishment of Best Paper Award (Han & Yeo Award): Han & Yeo Award was created to honor the name of Professor Jong-Khil HAN and Professor Gi-tae YEO, who are the founders of The Asian Journal of Shipping and Logistics. This award and prize will be granted by the fund established with the donation from the two founders. The prize money for 2026 is 300,000 KRW.

ICASL 2027 Proposal
- We are pleased to invite universities and research institutes to submit proposals to host ICASL 2027.
