Abstract

This study aims to explore how to optimize subway information design from the perspective of information processing to improve the efficiency and accuracy of information transmission and improve passenger guidance experience. First, through literature analysis and current situation investigation, the existing problems in subway information design at the current stage are analyzed. Discuss the feasibility of information processing model entry. Then a subway guide information processing model was constructed. On this basis, taking the Wuhan subway as an example, the effectiveness of the current information design is evaluated qualitatively and quantitatively and the pain points are determined. The pain points of the subway information design are classified and analyzed from three levels: perception processing, memory storage, and decision execution. Three strategies are proposed: presentation-level design based on perception, structural-level design based on memory, and behavioral-level design based on decision-making. Examining subway information design from the perspective of information processing can not only improve passengers' wayfinding experience, but also effectively improve the overall operating efficiency of the subway system.

Keyphrases: Human Information Processing Model, Subway Guide Information, information design, interaction design
